A scarce edition of the much reprinted best seller by one of the most popular poets of the Edwardian era. In 1901 she published The Garden of Kama, which was published the next year in the United States as India's Love Lyrics. The claim that this was an anthology collected and arranged by the psuedonymous Hope, soon fell under suspicion and it is thought that the poems of unrequited love, loss, and often subsequent death are the work of Nicolson herself, and are highly autobiographical.
