Claire Burch, born in Brooklyn, 1925; longtime resident of Berkeley and the East Bay, died in 2009 leaving behind a remarkable archive of her prolific life's work in writing, filmmaking, music, painting and more. Lydia Gans wrote a wonderful remembrance of Burch for the Berkeley Daily Planet in 2009, which manages to encapsulate a life, not without serious struggles, that seemingly knew no bounds in creative endeavors.
