The Adventure Library book club was founded by Edward L. Burlingame, after a distinguished career as Editor in Chief and publisher at Harper Collins. Among the highlights of his career was the publication of Alive, The Story of the Andes Survivors by Piers Paul Read. After leaving Harper, he set out to gather and publish, in fine editions other classics of adventure. A total of thirty attractively designed and printed books were eventually published before the house ceased production. These nineteen, basically never opened, will have you well on the way to completing the set.
