First sheet is a decorated cover letter; both sections with title page and portrait photograph of the Sackners. Cover letter states: June 26, 1980; ENCLOSED FIND THE LISTING OF MY ARCHIVE OF CONCRETE AND VISUAL POETRY FOR YOUR INFORMATION, SINCERELY, MARVIN A. SACKNER, M.D.; MAS:amp; ENCLOSURE. It is undetermined as to whether any other personally bound 'listings' were distributed, if any. We are aware of a scarce 1986 catalog in wrappers, which doesn't appear to contain the Russian avant-garde collection.
Founded by Ruth and Marvin Sackner in 1979 in Miami Beach, Florida, the Sackner Archive currently holds the largest collection of concrete and visual poetry in the world, now housed at the University of Iowa Libraries Special Collections.
